Strobilurus trullisatus (Murr.) Lennox Cap 0.5-2cm, convex-depressed; whitish to pale pinkish brown; densely and minutely hairy. Gills adnexed, crowded; white to pale pink. Stem 25-50 x 1-15mm, brittle; white above, yellowish rust below; minutely hairy-fuzzy. Odor not distinctive. Taste not distinctive. Spores 3-4.5 x 1.5-3ì. Deposit white. Habitat on old or partially buried cones of Douglas fir. Found in western North America. Season August-November. Not edible. Although not yet known in Europe it is very likely to be found in the future as it grows on Douglas Fir cones, Douglas Fir is now commonly planted in Europe. |
